Amouage Honour Man is a spicy woody fragrance for men with a classic composition. This eau de parfum by the independent luxury brand of perfumes seated in London, drawing inspiration from the colourful and rich legacy of its home country, Oman Sultanate, is very manly, exciting and dramatic, and just like all Amouage perfumes, it is absolutely unique and inspiring.
Honour for Men was launched in a pair with its feminine version and this duo of perfumes is inspired by the famous tragic story of Madame Butterfly, a geisha who married an American and waited for his return for three years. The story of Madame Butterfly is said to be based on real events. The duo of Honour fragrances refers to the last act of the story in the immortal opera by Giacomo Puccini from 1904, where the main hero (Cio-Cio-San, called Butterfly) cannot bear her tragic destiny any more and commits hara-kiri. Paradoxically, Honour Man is a tale of reconciliation. An elegy and an honour, an appeal to memories from the past.
The male version of Amouage Honour symbolizes the son of Madame Butterfly, who his father wants to take to America, striking the last blow to the unhappy woman. The renowned perfume designer Nathalie Feisthauer created a perfume which implies the subsequent return of the son in order to face the tragic destiny of his mother and come to terms with who he is. That's why Amouage Honour opens with a burst of pepper. Notes of pink and black pepper in the head of the perfume are followed by accords of geranium, nutmeg and elemi resin in the heart, which suggest that Madame Butterfly's son was a young man full of fire. Comforting, beautifully combined notes of patchouli, incense, cedarwood, vetiver, tonka bean and musk in the base allude to the final conciliatory ending of the hero, an elegy of a son giving honour to his mother. The finish of Amouage Honour perfectly evokes the climax of this stormy existential drama.
Amouage Honour is excellent for all men who are fond of fragrances full of emotional meaning. It will be forever loved by those who like spicy woody perfumes with a dramatic, yet perfectly and classically balanced composition, and it will please everybody who can appreciate real quality and precision in every step of the perfume production. Honour is well-suited for both day and night wear all year round. It always helps its wearer underline his manliness and provides him with a tinge of exciting drama.
Apart from their breathtaking scents resulting from a manufacturing process with the strictest quality standards, all Amouage perfumes also draw attention by their luxurious bottles The milky white bottle of Honour enchants you with its exquisite design, suggestive of luxury. It has golden decorative elements and it is adorned with a Swarovski crystal. The packaging is complemented with a very stylish and gently sophisticated light box with golden features.
