Jeux de Peau is an oriental woody fragrance for women and men created by the French brand of niche perfumes Serge Lutens. The founder of the brand who has the same name is a recognized and versatile artist and many of his exclusive and unique perfumes have become widely popular, almost cult-like. Serge Lutens closely cooperates with the renowned perfume designer Christopher Sheldrake. Maurice Roucel and Gilles Romey also took part in creating the perfumes of this brand. Jeux de Peau with a scent inspired by a childhood memory of Serge Lutens was created by Christopher Sheldrake.
Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau Eau de Parfum was inspired by one of the places Serge Lutens loved most when he was a child, a bakery in his native city of Lille in the north of France where he used to go to buy bread after school. The aromatic composition of Jeaux Peau opens with original accords of milk and wheat. Heart notes include coconut, licorice and immortelle and resourceful base notes consist of osmanthus, apricot, spices, amber and sandalwood along with other woody notes. The complex aroma is a combination of sweet, lactonic, woody and warm aspects. Jeux de Peau by Serge Lutens does not smell like a bakery. The bread aroma comes wrapped up in notes that conjure the familiar aromas of coffee, chocolate and chicory, sprinkled with green spices and darkened by licorice. The creamy, smoky sandalwood is paired with a lactonic accord and alludes to butter melting on toasted bread. Apricot provides a light tinge of jam, followed by a hint of incense.
Serge Lutens describes the inspiration of Jeux de Peau in his usual and a bit mysterious poetic way: “It's as if the baker took you by the hand. Your childhood is a slope. The farther down you go, the more it comes back to you. You must separate the wheat from the chaff to know who you are. All this to say that the smell of fresh bread from the bakery takes us back. The feel of warm bread against the cheek even more so, evoking a familiar sensation from my childhood.”
Jeux de Peau, evoking a sentimental memory, is perfect for both day and night wear all year round. It gives its wearers a chance to get back to the tranquil atmosphere of their childhood and wraps them up in a friendly, slightly gourmand aroma. Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau will be forever loved mainly by women and men who like a bit unusual lactonic note in perfumes, especially in a sweet and woody composition with a dash of spices. This eau de parfum will be loved by everybody who can appreciate real quality, workmanship and resourcefulness in a perfume.
Apart from its slightly gourmet and friendly scent, a pleasant emotional charge and unparalleled staying power, Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau also draws attention by its packaging. Its gentle white bottle of attractively straightforward design is complemented with a white box. Try this scent by the brand that carries the name of a renowned and appreciated artist and extend the range of your cosmetics products by an eau de parfum inspired by the bakery where Serge Lutens used to go to buy bread when he was a child. Jeux de Peau is also an excellent gift for those who love original perfumes and who you want to treat to something unique, high-quality and absolutely unmistakable.
